Soldering Welding Rods are used to weld (solder) the electrochemical protection cables (wires) with the diameter of 2.5 – 6.5 mm to up to 1,420 mm diameter pipelines. These pipelines are used in oil, gas, water, oil field, condensate pipeline industry in Russia.

Types and Features of Electrochemical Protection Soldering Welding Rods

• Soldering Welding Rod EHZ-1152 is used to weld the conductor cables of electrochemical protection with the cross section of 5 – 36 mm2 to a pipeline with the 10.1 – 40 mm thick walls. Rod’s burning time is 10-12 seconds, a welded spot is 5-6 mm high and 25-30 mm in diameter.
• Soldering Welding Rod EHZ-1150 is used to weld the cables of electrochemical protection with the cross section of 5 – 36 mm2 to a pipeline with the 4 – 10 mm thick walls. Rod’s burning time is 10-12 seconds, a welded spot is 5-6 mm high and 25-30 mm in diameter.
• Rods EHZ-1150А help to weld electrochemical protection cables (wires) with 5 – 36 mm2 section to ГРО gas pipelines with 3.5 – 5 mm thick walls. Burning time is 25 – 28 seconds, a welded spot has the same size as the one for EHZ-1150.

A welding kit includes:

• an electrochemical protection rod of the required type;
• a heat removing tube – it secures the cable at the welding place from being burnt, from loosing its conductivity properties due to high temperature impact;
• a reusable graphite holder which can be used min 150-200 times – it secures the vertical position of the rod, protects the welding area from the lost of thermal energy, shapes a welded spot and removes liquid slag and gas through its channels.

The combination of these three elements provides a reliable welding joint with up to 800 MPa strength.
